HC Hydropower
The use of a typical hydropower system for producing
electrical energy is still under study. The method that is being examined would
involved water being pump from the sea surface into a submerged water pipe
having a turbine and a small generator located near the bottom, at a depth of
about
m
( ft).
The free falling water would increase in power as it flows
down the pipe until it reaches the turbine. As it can be seen in the summary
table, this method would theoretically be simple and abundant source of energy
as the ever present surface water would simply have to be pumped into the pipe
to. But this is certainly to good to be true, therefore this energy method and
the data are hypothetical.
